Special Guided Tour of Newly Reopened Wadsworth Galleries

Join us for a special tour for UChicago alumni and friends of the newly fully-reopened Wadsworth Atheneum galleries, which have been closed for an extended renovation. The tour focuses on two temporary exhibits while telling about the renovation.

Cost: $5/person

Have you struggled to find your way around the Wadsworth Atheneum while the galleries and hallways were closed for renovations over the last two years? Come see the building in its fully restored glory. We have arranged a special tour of the galleries that focuses on two temporary exhibits, Aspects of Portraiture: Photographs from the Wadsworth Atheneum and Visions from Home: Surrealism in Connecticut. Our tour time was selected to allow you to participate in the public tours at 1:00 p.m., Highlights, and 2:30 p.m., European Paintings, Sculpture, and Decorative Arts, or the special afternoon program, Art & Curiosity Cabinets: Historical & Contemporary Perspectives. Click here for more information.

Our group size is limited, so please register early. Even members must buy a ticket to participate in our tour. Your admission is good for the whole day, whether you take other tours or just walk around the museum on your own. The Museum Cafe will be open for lunch until 3:00 p.m., so we can get something to eat and visit together after our tour. Food/drink will be self-host.
